No.

Vista is just a better platform for gaming than XP ever was.

So TC, don't -blam!-, get a job, and quit the drugs.

You just made me chuckle at your self-denial attitude.

Wake up man. Halo2 on the Xbox is OLD. It would work just as well on the XP OS. Reasons they're doing it on Vista?:

They want your freakin' money.

and your all newbs in here...its for vista because of DirectX10. You can't use dx10 hardware on xp, you have to use a software emulator. And last I checked there is only one card that supports dx10 and that is the GeForce 8800 GTX card (which also supports dx9 for xp).
First off, we never called anybody else "newbs" or any variant of it whatsoever.

Secondly, it appears that you are the noob here, because contradicting what you just said, the GeForce 8800 can be used on Windows XP PCs. Also, Halo 2 will support DirectX 10 cards, but it won't use DirectX 10 itself. Nice try, dumbass.

No crap, I thought they were a non-profity charity. Yes, Microsoft does want your money, but that's not why they put Halo 2 on Vista.

I'm not going to argue with anybody, but IMO Halo 2 being Vista exclusive is just a way for Microsoft to help shift the OS market over to Vista. Halo 2 ran just fine back in 2004 on the Xbox, which used a modified version of Windows 2000.

I see absolutely no reason why Live Anywhere can't be done on XP.
It can be done, I think. But it would convince people to upgrade to buy Vista, maybe? It's all in the name of progress. And cash.

If you agree with what Iron and I said, why bother saying "M$ isn't doing "it" for "that"? Kim, I know that you know what the real reasons are.

Microsoft wants money, duh. But putting Halo 2 on Vista isn't going to help.

Seriously. Most people aren't going to upgrade to Vista JUST for the chance to play Halo 2. Their iPods and other devices won't work with Vista. They'll keep XP (like I will) and hope that MS comes to its senses and releases Halo 2 for XP. I'd rather not get a hack off Limewire to do this... please, MS, it won't work. Just release Halo 2 for XP and you'll get a lot of money and we'll have fun.

Shame it won't happen.

I don't know how many times I'll have to say it, but I guess I'll keep on saying it until it is embedded with everyone.

CHILDREN DON'T BUY OPERATING SYSTEMS.

Their main concern in marketing deals with small and big businesses, not some rinky-dinky video game. You actually think Microsoft is anticipating the Halo 2 Vista sales? "Oh yes, those sales will contribute to >0.01% of Vista sales. Let's put all of our marketing into Halo 2 Vista!"

Oh SNAP. Second brilliant QFT of the day.

Halo 2 won't sell Vista. It's the other way around. Honestly, not too many people save for us care that much about a 3-year-old, slightly neglected Xbox port.

Wow, ok, plus 1 post count for me too. Even though this was the exact post right before mine.
