Firstly, begone with you to The Halo 3 Forum

Secondly, the Flood is an intricate part of the Halo story and it would be silly to even think that they would not be in Halo 3 in some form.

Personally, I hate the flood. I'd rather kill me some Elites. Whenever I play Halo campaign I always restart when the flood shows up.

I hate the Flood. It turns a Sci-Fi War game into a freakin' minor zombie game. Pathetic. And sniper rifles, a vital part of combat, doesn't even affect them. Once again, pathetic.

It adds an interesting effect to multiplayer.

Whenever the flood show up, I go to shotgun/pistol combo. Many people don't know that if you shoot the infection form that's in the body with the pistol, it dies immediately. Doesn't work with sniper rifle.

Yup. Just like zombies, they die with one precise bullet to the mouth.

In Halo 3, Bungie better improve their AI for the Flood instead of making them all rush you at once to eat your shotgun--or at the very least not forcing you to go through giant levels reusing the same level design and fighting Flood over and over again. I don't care what they say, as far as gameplay wise--they are just space zombies.

The snipe is built for piercing. The only reason t is affective against things like humans and covie is because it takes out the vital organs we need to survive. The flood as you know are just this little marshmallows that have taken over the hosts body. If ya shoot a vital organ on the host its not going to do -blam!- to the flood controlling them, just leave a coin-sized hole in the host. (Not saying you did not already know this)

So it's not pathetic, it's biology.

In response to the thread, yes the flood will most defiantly bee in H3 even if it’s for a small portion of the game.

I repeat, sing along with me, I run the streets the streets don't run me.

After the Flood is introduced, all the campaign levels seem so weary, dark, and morbid. They aren’t scary (except for first time encounters), and are there just to take up your time. I think they were introduced to make the game have psychological effect on the player. The noised that emanate from them are just horrid and may cause fear in the right situations. The environment also adds (like in the level 343 Guilty Spark, when you enter the “weapons room” there are piles of bodies. There is also this one part where there is grunt blood splayed all throughout a hallway with jackals seemingly staring into open space. They never know what hit them) as well as the music and lighting level. The video transmission you see from Jenkin’s headpiece right before the introduction to the Flood also adds to the fear. The Flood will for sure be in Halo 3 (although I hope it’s limited to a few short levels) because you cannot just leave them on High Charity. Bungie should have done a better job at making more scarier zombie-like monsters though. Maybe Half-Life style.

I hated the zombie-like creatures (Xen or whatever) with the long red hands and the innards all visible.

Yes, I am a hypocrite, and I'm sorry. I really do mean well, but I'm not running on all cylinders.

Everytime someone buys a copy of Halo 2 Vista, a puppy dies.

Sorta like the movie "The Decent", and "The Blair Witch Project". It's pretty dam dark, so they cause fear inside of you psychologically(sp?).

Half Life owns. Those headcrabs revoke the fondest memories of me bashing their skulls in with a crowbar.

Lol somebody should make a crowbar mod =). I agree with kim (gasp) because, yes at first the headcrabs were scary as -blam!-. But then when I learned that they are basically the same as the flood in Halo, except slower, dumber, and without weapons. The only thing I hate in the Ravenholm level is all the fast headcrab zombies.
Now, to get to the actual point, I think the flood should be in halo3, but I say this grudgingly (I know its spelled wrong) I just plain hate them. In halo1, their not so bad, but in halo 2, when as soon as you kill one a infection form jumps onto the body and there's a fresh flood in front of me to eat up my shotgun ammo. That, and the fact that it was WAY to dark, I hated every single flood level in Halo2 with all my heart. But, for storyline reasons, the flood should be in Halo2. (But as little as possible.)

Dumber than the Flood? I don't see how that's possible.

The Flood = wannabe headcrab zombies. You cannot deny Half Life's influence on Bungie here. HL FTW!

I mean if Gravemind is in H3(Yes I have evdience.) then the Flood might be in H3. I just hope the Juggernaut is too.

Oh, man. The first time I played Halo's 343 Guilty Spark, I'll admit I was more than a little scared.

After playing HL2's Ravenholm on Hard, though, Halo's Flood just seem sort of "meh." They don't really do much but gurgle and slap you, though they do use weapons to devastating effect. In comparison, you've got those screaming motherfsckers in HL2 who just love giving you a big friendly leaping-hug.

Firstly, begone with you to The Halo 3 Forum

Secondly, the Flood is an intricate part of the Halo story and it would be silly to even think that they would not be in Halo 3 in some form.

Guys, if you're going to say the same thing someone else said, say it in a different way, or don't say it at all. Quoting the same old post just the reinforce the meaning of that phrase is a waste of time, and posts.
