Hi, all! What I'm gonna show you today is a little map called "Trial By Fire"! I originally made the early builds of this map in February one day after being bored. It took about ninety minutes ( I am a fast forger) to do the basics, and then a LOT of testing. After about two months, I think it's ready to be introduced to the general community.

There is a fortress in Foundry...

You can initially try to break in through the "mountain caves", or back rooms, of Foundry. Players who take this way will find a Flare, which can be useful if implemented tactically. There are also some TripMines as you emerge from the caves, for setting traps if you're into that kind of thing.

So, what if the defenders are pwning our men in the caves? Well, after a minute and a half into the match, grav lifts spawn under the main wall of the fortress!

This way you can catch them by surprise, like a monkey! Or a ninja! Sha-zaam!

Next, your main goal is the Flag Room, or "The Keep". After the initial shock of Spartans vaulting over their gates, the defenders will be scrambling to get their defenses in order. If you've played online, that's tough to do, by the way.

Head through the *very vulnerable* Causeway...

You're buddies can cover you from the "Sniper Mountain" outside...

And grab the Flag in the Keep...

Congratulations! You've broken through enemy lines and stolen the Flag! Now, all becomes an epic battle as you and your men fight out of the Keep, and hustle to the Capture Point. There are two main exits to the Fortress, as you know.

1) Through the "Caves". It's slower, but safer. You can have the flag guys go through the back and wait for the warriors to clear the field, then capture the flag, for example.

2) Jump off the wall and gun it straight across the open field. This is the most common method. Where the first exit is slow but safe, this method is fast and extreme. Both sides lunge at each other in what amounts to playing on a smaller version of Foundry Canvas. Bodies go everywhere, and carnage ensues.

But, hey! Wait! This map is called "Trial By Fire" for a reason! Hmm? You thought I'd just give it that name to make it sound cool?
Wrong! OK, boys and girls, get ready for another key point in this map.

If you do not capture the flag quickly, you have to deal with a NEW enemy. You see, when the timer for the round says that there is 1 minute and 30 seconds to go, a nice batch of Fusion Coils will rain from the sky. You see, during testing I looked at key areas where people would be fighting generally at that time. Once I found the hotspots, I would place an accordingly distributed amount of Coils above the ground (a little to the side, so as not to kill the player instantly) to spawn towards the end.
Fun stuff.

Also, I tried to balance this map's asymmetry mainly with these points...

1) Sniper Rifle = Battle Rifles on Battlements
2) Dual SMG's = Active Camo
3) Energy Sword = Shotgun

Speaking of the Sword and Shotgun, I'd better clarify for people right here and now: These weapons are symmetrical. The Sword is found in a little room at the back of the fortress, ground level, under the Keep. The Shotgun is close to where the attackers spawn, behind the little pipes on the wall.

Just thought I should clear that up.

Currently this map only works for "One Flag", because that's the most fun. It is recommended for 6-16 players.

Thanks you all, and have a great day!

Stop putting that on every forum I see! It just leads to a dumb game website. Someone report him!

I love the map's concept, although I have seen tme-delayed grav-lifts before. I say bungie needs to update the forge with triggerable events. So say somebody walks onto a certain spot.... and a wire spool falls down infront of them. What's not to love about that Idea eh? Solid looking gameplay, 4/5.
