As a Technical Designer at Bungie, you will be the liaison between designers and programmers and will be working with them to set requirements for content editing and event scripting tools. Your primary role asks you to help world designers optimize their workflow, and you will be the primary “go-to” person for the implementation of complex content that stretches the capability of existing systems and projects that require heavy designer/engineer interaction. This flexible position includes both programming and design responsibilities which we will adapt to your interests and capabilities. You will spend the vast majority of your time on design, but for specific projects, some of your time may be dedicated to programming.
It’s the economy, stupid! Drive players to invest in our game economy by analyzing the subtleties of behavioral economics and pondering the pitfalls of specialization and free trade. Theorize why people make irrational economic choices and use the tricks you’ve learned to ensure players only make the irrational choices you want them to. Create an economic system that will fulfill a player’s needs just as much as shooting an alien in the face.
The Economy Designer at Bungie will develop a robust and rewarding game economy that drives player behavior toward intended goals and validate those systems through intense simulation, testing and iteration. You’ll design the systems and mechanics which drive in-game trade, satisfy the players’ need for possessions and wealth whilst ensuring rewards retain their intended value despite attempts to exploit or grief the system. You will determine what data is necessary to mine, ensure we have all of the hooks necessary to gather that data, and come up with all of the interesting metrics and questions we should ask of that data. You will run simulations of these mechanics based on expected player behavior and test these simulated results against actual player behavior; tuning the live system accordingly.
Bungie is seeking a passionate, creative, and omnipotent designer to build world activities within in our next universe. Your vision will become the Authority of Great Player Experiences, your ever-expanding mind will unleash the Sacred Secrets of Replay Value, and your voice will lead our players to the Promised Land.

You will evaluate gameplay pacing, flow, difficulty curves, and balance to polish all game activities for an optimum player experience. You will partner with user testing to evaluate ideas and implementations. You will ultimately be responsible for setup and fine tuning of gameplay experiences, including everything from story moments to player respawn points, and everything in between.
Do you love applying data to solve problems? When someone asks for your feedback do you instinctively open Excel and put together graphs? Are you excited by the idea of using data to understand players and customize their gameplay?
We’re looking for an engineer who has a passion for generating, manipulating, and interpreting terabytes of data about everything from player gameplay choices to weapon balance. Your work will have a key influence on the design and commercial success of Bungie games.
You can spot a security bug a mile away. Crypto suites aren’t just buzzwords to you, they’re nuanced and quirky friends. And, you can rattle off ways that smart people have accidentally misused them. You can wax poetic about online game ecosystems that have been unbalanced by exploits, then code up alternatives that would have withstood those attacks. You’re the security expert, and that luminous white glow emanating from the coatroom seems to be coming from your hat.
Bungie needs your help making sure our next game is secure from top to bottom. As a security tools programmer, you will look for the cheats, hacks and exploits that could besmear the game experience for Bungie’s legion of fans. You will mercilessly catalog these threats and neutralize them. The scope of your contribution will be massive, encompassing the end-to-end security health across both the game clients on multiple platforms and the online services backing them. You’ll work closely with other engineers to ensure that feature designs factor in security from the beginning. If you possess these skills, come and join us on our path to world domination!
You spend your nights browsing the mobile app store, but rather than buying anything you say, “I can write that!” When Apple releases a new version of iOS you immediately download the updated SDK to see how the API has changed. Bungie is looking for a programmer with a passion for mobile application development. Our mobile development team is focused on establishing real time connectivity for millions of users and terabytes of data. Join our team and define the interface of Bungie’s next gaming universe to the world.

Most importantly you will work with a fun, dedicated, driven and energetic team devoted to creating the best and most technically impressive games in the world.

You will give them the tools to make their job easier and eliminate repetitive aspects which should have been entirely automated. The impact of your contributions will be felt across the entire test team and they will struggle to remember a time before you.

We are the glue that holds production of Bungie's games together. We are looking for a passionate, talented, and hands-on tester to help us build and manage a small mobile team. Show us you can juggle a variety of smartphones while our malevolent developers hurl their blazing hot ideas into the mix and the job is yours. (Jester outfit is optional.)
Bungie is looking for test professionals who believe that the only good bug is a dead bug. When you find an error in game functionality, do you crave total understanding of the problem? Are you compelled to dig into the bowels of that system to discover how it’s truly working? We are looking for testers who strive to see the whole puzzle instead of just a piece.
Testers in these areas must have a drive to understand complex technical systems. They’re not deterred by looking at logs and debug data all day. The ideal tester can remain unphased by not actually playing the game for most of the time. An ideal candidate comes from a technical background, and carried with them a desire to build on those skills. The person we seek strives to enhance our productivity and learn what they need to know to boost their own effectiveness.
Do you spend your free time trying to figure out how to break the games you’re playing? Do you see those bugs in games that none of your friends notice until you point them out? Are you obsessed with finding clever ways to get to the top of the leaderboards easily? Do you like breaking things and letting people know how you did it? We may have a job for you.

We are looking for a passionate, talented, and hands-on tester to help us build and manage a small web test team. The ideal candidate knows games and loves the web. You should also be able to do a mix of manual and automated testing. If you are eager to lead a team that will help us reinvent the platform for the amazing community that is hosted on Bungie.net, please apply within.
Bungie is looking for an SDET to help our Test Team ensure the overall quality of our product. As a Performance SDET at Bungie, your responsibilities will include understanding that workflow and defining performance requirements and metrics for the game. Duties also include participating in feature planning and design/content reviews and writing and maintaining test applications and automated performance test suites.
You will manage a small test team and work closely with cross functional leads to determine critical performance data to measure, evaluate, and publish. You will work with the test team in helping research and foster white box testing and tool creation from the ground up.
The tester will be responsible for running BVT cases, with precision and accuracy. The position will perform tool bvts as well as game BVTs. Tools BVT work will require working in all content creator tools (Max, Maya, and proprietary Bungie Tools) and doing baseline tasks to verify the content creator workflow. The tester will be responsible for working with the lead to end-of-life old cases, and working with content creators to add new essential cases.
We are looking for a passionate, talented, and hands-on tester to help us staff a small web test team. We need testers who know games and love the web. This is a job testing our website, rather than our next game. Are you eager to help us sustain Bungie.net for the community that calls it home? Can you help us anticipate the stresses that will come when they move in?

Most folks only know of Bungie because of Halo, but now, learn about the studio's quiet beginnings and its sometimes dubious history.

If that sounds like you, please send a resume to email@example.com and include the position for which you are applying in the subject line of the email (or you can use the job-specific email links included in the positions to the left).
Don’t forget to include samples of your work (attached files or URLs are great), which clearly demonstrate your artistic proficiency in a specific area. For example, if you’re applying for a character artist position, we’d love to see your strongest character work up front versus paging through several environment and vehicle shots before arriving at your gruesomely cool monsters. Detailing how your reel is broken down is also paramount; we want to know what you did and how you did it. Finally, please be sure to put your best, most polished and approved work forward. We look forward to checking it out!
