"Welcome to the third installment of the community map spotlight. The map that I will be introducing to you today is Halftime
, by JoeSki73
Halftime has been created to resemble an American Football stadium. The map has a fairly open field with rockets to fight over on the 50-yard line, with enclosed grandstands on either side of the field. The visual cues are immediately recognizable to anyone familiar with a stadium, and even from your first time on the map, you are able to feel familiar with the intuitive and recognizable layout. Much like you expect from a football field, it does have mirror symmetry, making it ideal for team play.
After playing several games on Halftime, I can say with complete honesty that gameplay on this map is wild, and fun. Most gameplay goes on in the concourses. There are a total of three concourse. Blue, Red, and Orange. The Blue, and Red concourses are located on either side of the map, and the Orange concourse can be found at the endzone.
The map is roughly the size of Countdown, and plays splendidly with 8-12 players. Aside from playability, the aesthetics of the map were done marvelously. In the middle you have a stage, such as that in a halftime show, and on either side you have concourses. On the level of the stage, you have score boards, and the endzones are complete with goalposts.
Lastly, I will leave you with this rendered video fly through of the map, a few snap shots of the map, and an interview with the map maker, himself.

Q. What inspired you to create this map?
A. I was at a GT football game and while looking around thought to myself that a stadium would make a pretty sweet playspace. This map is nothing fancy. It's very straight forward and bare bones. It does a pretty decent job of always keeping the participants in the action.
Q. Do you have any tips, or tricks for the forgers, or soon to be forgers?
A. I could go on forever with my opinions regarding this topic, but the short version is: Have at least a general game plan in regard to what you want to build, learn your limits and comfort level in forge ...then push yourself to exceed those limits.
Q. Is there anything else you would like to say before we rap up this interview?
A. I'd hate to pass up a good opportunity to point out that urk has a not-so-secret fetish for men's chest hair. I really hate outing him like that but the truth must be heard! Shout-out to 'The WorkPLace' and also all the helpful people in 'The T00L B0X' forge group. Thank you!
No, thank you JoeSki for building this wonderful map for everyone to enjoy.
