More and more people are trying out Mythic Difficulty - Solo, Legendary, All Skulls On - because the Weekly Challenges are starting to include campaign chapters at this level. Tyrant's the guy who's gonna get you through - and his latest release shows you how to beat The Pillar of Autumn, one of the longest and most complicated levels in Reach. Follow his guide and you'll get a leg up on the most devious Covenant - in some cases, you'll even find ways to avoid them altogether! He can't take your shots for you, or dodge those Fuel Rod blasts... but he can show you where to be to make the most of the tools you've got. The text for this level took up 12 pages in a Word document. The 16 videos were culled from a 50-minute run, and include voice-over commentary that will point out the most important parts of what you're watching. Check out the guide - then go beat the level!

Another weekly Reach challenge, another contest, only this time it's open to international players! Try your luck with "ThunderKat", before 11:00pm PST on Sunday, March 6th and you'll be entered into a drawing for a 3 month Xbox Live gold time card. The challenge is an easy difficulty thrill ride through ONI Sword Base, pitting players against the effects of a looming thunderstorm, whether that be downed radars, unavailable air strikes, malfunctioning homing weapons, or just a frenzied cluster of enemy explosions... and yes, the thunderstorm skull is on for flavour. We want this one to be open to EVERYONE given its fresh international eligibility, so no legendary shenanigans this week. Just remember, you've only got a half hour to complete this challenge, so budgeting time and kills will be key to your success.

Once again, residents of countries that are not the United States or Canada are eligible for the prize. US and Canadian residents should enter the still open "Cemetery Chill" for their chance at 1600MSP.

"This is a Halo: Reach montage/funtage from Salaya entitled, 'Live Your Life.' The amount of originality in the gameplay is just incredible, featuring lots of very interesting maneuvering for nice assassinations. The gameplay also features its share of sick multikills, showcasing a nice 2 for 1 spawn snipe on Asylum along with a couple sweet overkills. As for the editing, I really liked it as well. The editing is there, syncing enough of the footage to establish a basic flow, only using a collection of fairly basic techniques to preserve the impact of the gameplay. I also thought the soundtrack very nicely completed the relaxed feel this montage has. Enjoy!"

"On March 16, 2012, The Smithsonian Museum of American Art will be adding an exhibit honoring the art of video games.  Two Hundred and Forty titles have been selected for voting and voters can choose up to 80!  This is a huge step for the gaming community, as developers will finally be recognized by Americans everywhere for their artistic achievements.  As gamers (young and old) we are the perfect people to be voting on such titles.  So, I urge all of you to go here to vote and have a voice on, in my opinion, one of the best exhibits to come to a museum to date!"

In your Carnage report for any multiplayer matchmaking playlist, use 7 different weapons to kill your opponents (grenades, falls, etc. included.)

Give Them A Chance
Earn 55 Multi-Kills in any FireFight Arcade gametype.

High Score, What Does That Mean? Did I Break It?
Earn 40,000+ points in any Score Attack game type.

I Work Better On My Own
Tally 15 kills on the Lone Wolf Mission on Normal or Higher Difficulty.

Bungie All Stars - Week 7

We're all about you.

We're running a lilttle behind this week, but that doesn't mean you're getting an extra day to assemble your artful submission for Bungie All Stars. Nope, this week you're going to have to step it up. That said, you might already have a head start. This week - the seventh in our All Stars run - is all about you.

  1. Take a "Glamour Shot" of your current Spartan or Elite player model looking fantastically sublime or ridiculously bad ass.
  2. You have from right now until Thursday, February 24th at 11:59pm PT to submit your entry for consideration to contest@bungie.com.
  3. Use the subject line “Bungie All Star Week 7” (without the quotation marks).
  4. The size limit for attachments is 10MB. You should include a preview image (because I'm lazy) and a link to the original in your File Share. We've given you the tools. Use 'em.
  5. One submission per person. Please include your Bungie.net profile and gamertag in your email, so we can properly reward you should you win.

It's a siesta on FTZ today with a classic challenge for Halo 3! Don the Mk. VI armor one again for an easy run across Tsavo Highway, but beware of the explosions. You have no weapons outside of your fists and no vehicles outside of your feet, so a swift stealthy approach is your best bet. That and trip mines... lots of trip mines. Try it out on "Border Cross" today!

A reminder that we also have a Reach prize challenge underway for everyone in North America on "Cemetery Chill." Submit a valid score for your chance to win! Everyone international, tune in Friday for your first opportunity to win a nice gift of your own.

The first thing you need to know about Countdown are the multiple levels for fighting. It's layered, just like an onion, a good cake, an ogre or your heart. There are a total of four floors, the highest being a soft-kill zone. You're also going to need to know how to use the lifts, as in which one to use at which time. Lastly, you're going to need to stop baddies carrying power weapons, because you know, it happens a lot.
