Code of War
brought forth se7en clan members to compete against Bungie:
GodofDeathKB - Clan leader.
Peter7Griffin - Spot on peter griffin impersonation.
So1dier0fDeath - Scarred for life by Bungie.
YoPwnsNubs - Guess I know where we stand, then.
Stewie7Griffin - “Gotta, gotta compelling protaganist? Yeah? Gotta obstacle for him to overcome?”
Antman011 - lol.
Bungie was staffed by Zombies last week:
Frankie - Best killed with lawn mower.
Frankie’s Guest/Stosh - Best killed with 10 CDs.
Billy77Bones - Best killed with a cash register.
New0001 - Best killed with a bench.
Phlegm Brulee - No need to kill him, just put a lego head on him and let him roam free.
Game 1: Team Crazy King
Beaver Creek, normal weapons
Game Duration: 18:16
General Tone of Game: “Shoot him in the face, Stosh.”
Despite the fact that Frankie left for Aruba hours before the Humpday and was likely on a plane at the time of the event, he still somehow managed to show up for the Humpday and performed like a champ. We were short a man so Code of War’s leader, GodofDeathKB, took one for the team and played on our side. The doctors say he may never walk again. Frankie’s guest in the first game was Stosh. Stosh was on the tail end of a 40 hour day, so Frankie needed to continually motivate him with frequent insults and harsh words throughout the game.
The first game of BC KOTH went pretty well, actually. It was dominated by Code of War, ultimately, but Bungie was never completely out of the picture. We kept pace with them for a while. Frankie performed magnificently, earning both the most kills and the most time in the hill (which comes with the most deaths, unfortunately). In the end, Code of War was able to maintain control of the game and kept Bungie out of the hill long enough to gain the win.
5:00 to 3:51. CoW wins.
Game 2: 1 Flag CTF
Relic, normal weapons
Game Duration: 12:39
General Tone of Game: Frankie is a God
The second game went much like the first. Stosh had to catch a bus so we swapped in New0001/Joe Tung for him. If this were a fantasy sports league, that would’ve been the pickup of the year. We borrowed from CoW yet again as they rotated So1dier0fDeath in with the Bungie crew. I’m told he’s made great strides toward recovery; he’s even gone a few days without trying to kill an orderly.
In all four rounds, CoW made a point of obtaining both snipers on the map. This was less than optimal. They kept us down in our first attempt on their base. If we made it within a fifteen foot radius of the flag, I’d be surprised. On their assault, they again gained control of both snipers (which is just my vague way of saying, “I was doing something stupid and they shot me in the dome-piece”) and made us sorry in the event that we ventured more than 6 inches beyond cover. When the eventual assault took place, they rushed with a solid assault force. Once it was down, it was just a matter of leap-frogging it forward under the cover of sniper fire.
Our second assault on their base was more successful. We tried the hog rush maneuver and it worked, surprisingly. Phlegm Brulee snapped up the flag and chucked it down. They had both snipers again, but we were able to move the flag slowly but surely back home for the capture. After a bit of last-minute drama, Bungie scored the flag to even it up. Unfortunately, CoW’s strategy in the first round was applied to the last round with just as much success. They got both snipers and bottled up Bungie on the Relic. The assault came and was again able to push the flag off the Relic and CoW advanced it all the way back to score it.
Despite another clutch performance from Frankie with most kills, least deaths and most medals on Bungie, Code of War pulled it out.
2 to 1. Code of War wins.
Game 3: Team Slayer
Game Duration: 6:10
General Tone of Game: Joe Tung hates babies.
After the last game, there’re a lot of games that I’d have picked if it were up to me. Something heavily featuring Needlers, probably. The last thing I'd pick would be snipers. But Joe Tung goes ahead and says, “Snipers on Coag.” He is full of hate. Miraculously, we didn’t get reamed too hard. They gave us another one of their players, Peter7Griffin. He was messed up to begin with so he suffered no negative effects as result of playing with the Bungie crew. It was a fast-paced game, so far as Snipers games go. People ended up in all of the predictable areas, caves, rocks, back of blue base and the ridge near red base so you never had to look too hard for a target.
Frankie was, again, the beast of the Bungie team, leading the team not to victory but to a less-humiliating defeat than usual. Which, in itself, is a victory. The teams were really evenly matched in this round except for YoPwnsNubs, whose skills with a sniper rifle were far beyond everyone else’s on that night. Going 21-8, he led CoW to the win to round out their victorious night.
50 to 43. Code of War wins.
Much thanks to the guys at Code of War for participating in the Humpday and being patient while we took care of business here and put the Humpday write-up on hold for a while. A fine group of gamers, they are. Go visit their site and see if it's a group that you're interested in.
