Subject: The Rock. A map I spent 7 hours laboriously working on... interlock...

Recommended gametype: the infection variant The Rock

EDIT: This map has been reviewed. Here is the link: Review
The review is the last one on the first page. It's at the very bottom. It got an average overall score of 9.1/10 Check the link to read the detailed review.

NOTE: Please, if you download, rate and comment. I want to know what I can do to improve the map, and what you all think of the map.

I was thinking earlier today, and I thought of making a map with little rooms with "power suits" that defenders use to repel the enemy. This was the idea that helped me build "The Rock" (which I originally thought of calling " Command Base Alamo" because I wanted it to seem like The Alamo in ways, but I thought that this name was stupid.) Well, this map is a besieged fort (The Rock). It has an interlocked parapet all the way around the interlocked walls of the fort. It is at the height where defenders can see over and shoot, but can duck down and still have a reasonable amount of cover. At the front there is a pair of turrets next to a flamethrower. This is above the two doors into the fort. The doors are made of two pallets per door, which respawn instantly. They are pushed against the opening, and pinned in place with weapon holders, which act as a sort of nail. On both sides of the doors are two sniper towers (one with camo, the other a sniper rifle). They use a grav lift to get onto the main sniping area. They have roofs that look like guard tower roofs. On the sides of the tower are the only two stairs to get onto the parapet, in which everything is located. They are two flipped stairs that are merged into the walls to conserve space, and if you don't look, since they are blocked from view by the towers, you might not notice them. On the base level is a little pedestal where objective game objectives spawn. There are three little rooms that each have a unique power weapon and a custom power up. (middle one has two snipers, left has three BR's, and right has three shotguns.) These weapons do not respawn, but come with extra ammo. I recommend that the custom power ups increase shields, damage, and speed and/or gravity. (These are supposed to be the power suits.) While the defenders have quite the base, the attackers also have a good assault. (How else would they be able to keep the fort under siege?) The attackers spawn in the two outlet areas by the back rooms. They have two stationary wraith tanks and two stationary Gauss Warthogs. In their spawn rooms are a set of weapons. Th left spawn (facing the fort) Has an overshield, two brute shots, a sniper rifle, three BR's, two shotguns, a trip mine, a deployable shield, and a grav lift. The right spawn has two brute shots, a sniper rifle, active camo, two BR's, a pair of spikers, a bubble shield, a grav lift, and a regenerator.

This map can be played with any variant, although team objective based games work best. (Especially when they are One types. Example: One Flag. One Bomb.) The map was made primarily for Infection though, and the gametype up at the top of the thread is the way I had planned for this map to be played.

NOTE: This was my first time interlocking, so if some areas look sloppy, that's why

Hey Lethal! I was just browsing the forums and I found this. I have to say it's fun but the pallets have the minimun run time as the maximum so you can't enter the base by just walking. But it was fun! 5/5*

Awesome map! But the one downfall is the weapon placement in the side room. they are a little bit close. My suggestion is to put them in the weapon holders and against the walls in the room. 4/5
