A pre-foundry forger.
This is a map I've created to put the elevator mechanic to good use. There are two elevators so that the map can transport multiple players at a time. The original design for this level all flowed in one direction, but favored the first player up the elevator too highly. Now players can enter from either direction. There are hidden items in this level (including a garage holding a Gauss Warthog that can only be opened from the inside) and there are many opportunities to create difficult to manage traps. A series of shield doors ensures that enemies are sure to have to confront your trip mines face to face, a room full of fusion coils makes reaching the best weapons a stressful experience and sniper views out of the upper level make walking out in the open very dangerous.I've designed this to work with slayer gametypes, but it wouldn't take much to convert the level to support other favored game modes. Some Screens:Original one-way designThe mongoose cage as seen from the man cannonsOn the man cannonsInside the heavy weapons roomUsing the hidden gauss warthogFinding the hidden gauss warthogThe almost-secret upper level and its perksA calm moment in the heavy weapons roomThe elevator upper lobby from outsideGetting to the almost-secret upper levelThe full map from one sideThe view from upstairs once you break open the palletThe two elevator shaftsThe trap corridor that leads to heavy weapons roomThe key components of the mapBreaking out with the hidden gauss[Edited on 02.12.2009 11:32 PM PST]
