I've got no clue there, but that's out of order. maybe a hacking or cheating device, like AR Max or something? AR Max are easy to get hold of, they're in the argos catalogue. maybe he picked something up already to stop him picking up the bubble shield, but turning it into an overshield is not supposed to happen. My brother just tried imitating what he done then, but nothing happened, so i'm guessing he hacked it somehow. other than that, i can't say much. report him to bungie.

It's not a hack or cheat, nor is it a glitch. Ever notice that in Forge, Overshields/Camo/Custom Powerup are listed under "Equipment?" My assumption is that they were originally equipment items. Provided that you're off-host, and you're walking really slow, you can exchange normal equipment for powerups. Simply hold your weapon-exchange button while crouch-walking very slowly toward such a powerup. This may take several tries, but as long as you're not host you will eventually switch your equipment item for a powerup.

What the guy in the video did was swap some piece of equipment for one of Boundless's Overshields, and then switched his Overshield for the Bubble Shield in the base. When he did this, the Overshield spawned in front of him and he picked it up. You see, you can't deploy a held powerup with the X button - you need to either die or switch it for other equipment if you want to use it.
