It is known that there is an infinite amount of planets in the universe, simply because there is an infinite amount of space to be in...Not everyone of these planets are inhabited though, so there is a finite number of uninhabited planets. And any finite number divided over infinite is as close to zero as makes no odds, and thus the average population for the universe is zero, and anyone you may meet time to time in the universe is just the outcome of a deranged imagination.
